Caryn Liles and Mirkka Koivusalo from Toronto Centre for Canine Education www.thetcce.com demonstrates a game to teach your dog not to badly react when looking a trigger that generally upsets/excites them. The game is called “Look at That” developed by Leslie McDevitt. Using a clicker and treats, start with a safer trigger to present to your dog and click and feed every time your dog looks at the trigger. Once your dog is consistent and comfortable with this training, slowly begin introducing triggers that your dog is more reactive with.
