Garden Natural Pest Control Part 2

Natural Pest Control

Christopher Wong from Young Urban Farmers youngurbanfarmers.com discusses natural pest control particularly for slugs and grubs.

4 main methods of natural pest control to control slugs include spreading used coffee grounds, eggshells, or chopped banana peels across your garden area.  The fourth option is setting out some beer in a shallow dish in the evening, and the slugs will be attracted to this refreshing beverage and crawl into the dish and perish (hopefully enjoyably!).

To control Grubs – Diluted Vinegar (1 part vinegar to 1 part water in a spray bottle), Insecticidal soap or Neem oil (1 teaspoon to 1 litre of water in a spray bottle) can be used.  These can also be used on most other insects you find in your garden and should have no adverse effects to your plants.
