Strengthening Abs for Mature Adults
Fitness Program Developer for Mature Adults Natalie Campanella of Centreline Principle demonstrates how to strengthen lower abdominals. Strengthening abs becomes very important as oftentimes through aging, injuries or prolonged inactivity, our lower abdominals become weak. To compensate, the hips pinch in trying to stabilize the lower back which can result in pain and limited mobility. With this particular ab exercise, the focus is on stretching the hip flexors to help them open up and isolate and strengthen the lower abdominal muscles.
As with any exercise, consult with your doctor before starting any fitness program.
